New Voting Systems in Maryland Legislature
Thursday, October 01, 2009
Recently, the Maryland House and Senate were looking to
upgrade some of their system components and improve their process by utilizing
IRC’s Session voting software . The upgraded system components include new
member voting buttons with beautiful new plates as well as upgraded computers
and software functionality, including the Request to Speak software .
IRC also
integrated the System Control Unit and other equipment into a rack along with
the page control system and re-lamped the old incandescent page indicators with
long-lasting LEDs. Late in 2010, Maryland
will become the first installation in the country of the new .Net developed voting
package called xmLegislator which is a highly configurable version of the
current IRC Session software. These updated components will guarantee the
Maryland Legislature many years of versatile and streamlined functionality in
collecting and managing the votes.
