Request to Speak

The Presiding Officer’s screen can be expanded to include our Request to Speak (RTS) software. With the RTS software installed members desiring to speak during a debate will press a button (RTS) at their desk for this purpose. Their names will appear in a queue on the Presiding Officer's monitor in the order the request was received. The Presiding Officer may recognize any member to speak at any time regardless of their position in the queue.

If they wish to do so, by touching the member's name the Presiding Officer can have the ability to turn on the member's microphone. There may be other functions associated with this interface including automatic positioning of the camera on the member speaking. The ability to activate microphones and control camera positioning require additional software and configuration to integrate with existing sound and camera equipment.
