.NET Voting Software

IRC’s .NET Voting Software is founded on the time-tested attributes of our VB6 version of the application which has been in place for many years in legislatures throughout the country. However, as we move forward, IRC has updated the application using Microsoft’s .NET development platform.

At the most basic level of functionality, our Voting Software provides the user with the ability to generate and manage multiple agendas, edit agenda items on-the-fly, display those items on the chamber displays or to auxiliary displays such as those located in a public gallery, output voting information to a database for export to the internet, manage the opening and closing of the vote, printing out of vote results, Request to Speak and summoning and management of the membership and attendance. Further, for those that use it, the new .NET version of the software promotes tighter integration with our xmLegislator legislative management product.

In addition to the system features outlined above, the .NET voting software supports:

•    Tablet and laptop voting
•    Video tagging of voting activity
•    Sound system and video integration
•    Automatic camera positioning
•    Automatic updating to status with floor actions
•    Release of vote records to the public internet site
•    Access to all recorded votes
•    Storing of all past voting sessions with access to recorded votes
•    Messaging system for displaying session, member, or council and or committee information on internal and external displays
•    Wizard to automate the setup of future regular or special sessions
•    Maintenance of member voting conflicts
•    Complete configuration of voting operator screen
•    Office access to recorded votes and calendar maintenance
•    Improved vote redundancy, reliability and integrity.

The features above are very much native to the .NET voting software. Of course, just as our VB6 software was fashioned into a powerful application over many years by adding the functionality of many customers throughout the country, the .NET Voting Software will continue to evolve in a similar fashion. As functionality is added to the overall matrix, customization is increasingly put into the hands of the user, who may activate and configure functionality in the comprehensive system configuration module of the application.
