IRC Transcription Recording and Transcribe Systems

The IRC Transcription Recording System is a digital recording solution for governmental use which is provided by one of our partners. The system is not only easy-to-install but the system is user friendly.  The transcription recording software is designed specifically to record public government meetings, and make the recordings available for review.

The Transcription Recording System allows the user to enter text data in order to index the recordings.  It is then possible to export the text notes entered to serve as an official journal-style record of the meeting (with no extra editing required). In addition, the built in archive management features enable all staff and elected officials to directly access any point in a specific recording by using the index function which was entered from their own computer. By posting recordings to a web server, the public can also have immediate access to recordings through the Webcast transcription program and the indexing system.

The Transcription Recording System will not only manage all recorded meetings and support indexing, but also the ability to support word searching.  The search mechanism is developed to allow an individual to search a series of recordings where the phrase was used.  The Transcription Recording System would allow the user to make copies of the recordings on disk, tape or to a file server for internet or intranet access.

The Transcribe System allows the conversion of the recorded audio to text within a word processor. This could be completed in one of two ways.  The first method for converting the recording(s) to text would be to export the entered index notes to the word processor to use as an outline. Then use the transcribe software to play back the meeting for transcription. The software includes a USB foot pedal for starting and stopping playback using a keystroke. This allows the user to control playback during transcription without having to take your hands off the keyboard.

The second method for converting the text to a word processor using the transcribe software would be to have a designated individual repeat the recording into a microphone.  We state designated individual(s) because they would train the software to understand their individual pronunciation of the English language.  The reiteration of the text, by this individual(s), into a microphone would then appear as text within the word processor.
