Voice Voting

Voice Voting can be used in Legislatures that do not have button voting.  It is incorporated into our standard Voting System to serve as a backup.   Voice Voting is designed to work with a touch screen and allows for the editing of votes and for historical review.  In the normal process, the members are arranged alphabetically.  As the roll is called, member selection is automatically advanced.  The Clerk simply has to press the colored vote button and that color is assigned to the member.   This coloring allows for a quick look at how the vote is proceeding.  In addition, running vote totals and percentages are displayed.  At the end of the vote, the outcome is determined based upon the votes taken and the selected majority rule.   In the case of a tie, the Presiding Officer can vote.  When the vote is closed, it is immediately recorded in the database and the vote details can be automatically printed.
