Journal

The Journal module is one of the stamping modules and allows for the entry of actions as they occur on the session floor. The use of standard Legislative language combined with parameters creates a dynamic environment for the efficient recording of actions during session. The ability to import external documents, such as reports, enhances the capabilities of the Journal module.  Anything brought into the Journal can be formatted to the Journal specifications.  After session, the Journal can be proofed and additional actions can be added, or existing actions can be edited. Actions can also be re-ordered if necessary.

A component of the Journal module is the General Index module. Once the daily Journal has been proofed and accepted, the General Index module is used for the free format creation of the General Index for the bound Journal.  Extracts of the daily Journal are put into a hierarchical structure, having page numbers and Journal dates assigned to them. When Journal stamps are created in the Actions module, they can be linked to General Index terms. If that Journal stamp is used, then in the General Index module, the daily Journal can be searched for that action and the associated General Index term can be easily assigned in the selected text in the index structure. The General Index and be printed and reviewed at any time.
